The recycled shrooms project is about creating something beautiful out of discarded objects. My thoughts behind this piece are both environmental and experimental.
To refer to the concept of giving life to a ‘dead’ object, mushrooms are being depicted. In real life, some mushroom species do feed and grow on dead matter.
A colourful palette is chosen to eliminate any negativity which may be related to the concept of death in general.
Each mushroom holds a recorder and a speaker to encourage interaction between the viewer and the artwork. In this created world, the viewer’s voice becomes that of the mushroom.
The materials used are recycled fans, paper, glue, gypsum, cement and spray paints.
